I was asked by a friend of mine if I did school photography.
She was so unhappy and disappointed with the way that her daughter had been captured at school and asked was it something that I could offer at the studio.
It wasn’t something that I’d really considered. I’d been documenting school life for a while at Bolshaw primary but not taking the actual formal school photography.
I absolutely love taking photographs of little ones but wanted to offer something a bit different to the usual stiffly posed school photographs that are a result of a cattle market mentality. So I came up with the idea of adding some words that summed up each child at that time in their lives. What their favourite food, colour, tv programme, hobby etc.
As a mum to two older girls time flies and it’s hard to remember exactly what they were in to at a particular time.
Well they went down a storm especially because I got everyone laughing too so the portraits were fun and captured the children at their best.
Here’s a few of my faves.
I offer these school photography portrait sessions in the studio at a much reduced rate compared to my normal prices as I book a limited number of sessions over two days. The most popular order choice has been the four digital downloads as they are perfect as presents for family as you can then print as many as you like so it works out great value for money.
Keep your eyes peeled on my social media for announcement of dates for school photography days in 2016.
