Who I am
Kelliejo Photography is run by Kelliejo Swanston, a self-employed photographer based in Heald Green, Cheshire. I’m responsible for the personal information described here.

What information I collect
Depending on how you work with me, I may collect:
- Contact details: your name, email, phone number and address, and your business name if relevant.
- Booking details: what you’ve booked, shoot dates and locations, and anything you tell me to help plan your shoot.
- Payment details: what you’ve paid and when. Card payments are processed by Stripe [and PayPal, if used]. I never see or store your full card details.
- Photos and videos: the images and footage I take of you, your family, your team or your business.
- Website information: what you send through my contact form, comments, and basic data about how people use my site [e.g. Google Analytics, if used].
Why I use it
- To deliver what you’ve booked: arranging shoots, editing, delivering your images and taking payments. I do this because it’s needed to carry out our agreement.
- To keep records: I keep invoices and payment records because the law requires it for tax.
- To reply to enquiries: when you get in touch, I use your details to reply.
- To show my work: I only use images of you, your family or your children on my website, social media or in advertising if you’ve given me permission. Boudoir images are never shared publicly without your clear, written agreement.
- For branding and membership clients: I may share some of your images and clips in my portfolio, as explained in your terms. You can opt out at any time.
Children’s photos
For family, newborn and nursery shoots, I only use images of children for marketing with permission from a parent or guardian. For nursery photography, parents order through the nursery’s order form, and I only use children’s images to produce and deliver the orders.
Event photography
At networking and business events, I’m usually booked by the organiser, and the images are used to promote the event. If you’re in a photo and don’t want it used, contact me or the organiser and I’ll remove it from my own channels.
Who I share information with
I only share what’s needed with the services I use to run my business:
- Stripe [and PayPal], for payments
- Gallery provider, e.g. Pixieset, for delivering your images
- Print lab, for printing orders
- GoDaddy
- Cloud backup, e.g. Google Drive/Dropbox, for storing images safely
I never sell your information.
How long I keep it
- Client images: I keep them for [e.g. 2 years] after your shoot so I can help if you lose your files, then delete them. Images you’ve agreed I can use in my portfolio are kept for as long as they’re in use.
- Financial records: 6 years, as required for tax.
- Enquiries that don’t go ahead: up to 12 months.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- Send you a copy of the information I hold about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete your information (unless I need to keep it for legal reasons, like tax records)
- Stop using your images for marketing. I’ll remove them from my website and future posts, but I can’t always remove ones that have already been shared by others.
Just email me and I’ll reply within a month.
If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please talk to me first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
