Last year I was very much an onlooker and made a promise to myself that I’d bite the bullet and submit my portraits into the Image of the Month competition every month. So very tentatively I sent away my entries at the end of January. The judging is done by a full Panel of experienced judges with very varied backgrounds (ie they were trained via different associations – the BIPP, MPA, RPS and Guild). This is what makes the Guild’s competition so demanding!
As the results aren’t released till the 21st of the following month I tried to put it to the back of my mind. This wasn’t easy as I was feeling more anxious as the days rolled by, bearing in mind this is the first time I’ve entered any competition with my photography so had no idea what to expect.
So when the 21st came ironically I didn’t check my emails till lunch time……completely forgot!!
Soooooo chuffed I got a Bronze award ‘Images of a strong standard at a professional level (A Bronze Bar)’ for this portrait I took of Rubie Belle during a Princess Portrait Shoot.
and A bar: ‘Images of a good professional standard (The Bar)’ for this one of Amy during a Teenage Portrait Shoot
All this and a new logo in one month….happy days x
