Let me start at the beginning…..
My mum had a rare form of cancer called Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia and Zolinger and Ellison syndrome which she battled for nearly two decades.
She spent the last two weeks of her life at St Ann’s Hospice in Heald Green.
The care that was given to her at the hospice was impeccable. She felt completely safe, I don’t know how our family would have coped without them.
Vibrant, cheeky (pinching my Dad’s bum from her hospice bed) and loving till the end.
Taken from us all too soon.
As a way of giving back I’ve completed the Midnight Walk 3 times but wanted to see if I could help in any other way.
I offered to photograph any events that they needed documenting.
Hannah rang me to see if I was free to photograph the Ladies Lunch at The Palace Hotel in Manchester. I was pleased to say I was.
I thought I’d be okay and that it wouldn’t be as emotional as doing the Midnight Walk.
I was fine until guest speaker Samantha Munday took to the stage and told her story of her Dad Mike.
She was amazing!
Susan Ma’s talk about her Tropic business success story was very inspirational.
You may remember her from the Apprentice four years ago. She didn’t win but Sir Alan still invested.
The day was wrapped up with a fashion show by LK Bennett featuring models from Maverick Models in Manchester.
Brilliantly hosted by Chelsea from Key 103 it was a fantastic fund raiser for such an amazing place that needs £16000 a day to stay open.
A special thank you to Anna from the Hospice for looking after me.
