I met Lauren through a lovely friend of mine Claire who recommended me to her and I’ve also photographed Syd and Henry before at school and nursery. She asked me to meet up to see if I could photograph her wedding too. The day started off at Lauren’s mum’s house in Heald Green. I arrived to gaggle of girls, Lauren’s sisters, mum, nieces, bridesmaids and Lauren’s brother getting ready.
My other half of Team Glam, Lisa, was there too making all the ladies and girlies look beautiful. It was a chilled start which reflected the rest of day ahead.
The wedding cars were a blue and cream VW Caravanette supplied by Kool Campers which I got all nostalgic over as we used to have these when I was a kid too.
I then popped over to St Catherine’s church where Craig was waiting and having a laugh with his mates. The bridesmaids arrived in the blue caravanette followed by Lauren and her brother in the cream one. Lauren’s brother walked her up the aisle to give her away. The ceremony itself was a good mix of lightheartedness, tradition and emotionally remembering loved ones that have passed.
After a few formal photographs captured outside the church it was off to The Hallmark Hotel to celebrate!
I’d already been there in the morning photographing the beautiful job Perfect Weddings had done decorating the room for everyone.
Whilst the guests were arriving to drinks outside and entertainment by Jon Wolstencroft I grabbed the opportunity to photograph the formals. The weather was so lovely all day long so we’d decided to do the bride and groom portraits later in the day, my favourite time when I can whisk the couple away so that they escape and enjoy some time alone with me photographing them of course too!
After the meal it was time for the speeches. These too were a lot like the ceremony at St Catherines church, lighthearted, funny and very emotional remembering Lauren’s Dad and Craig’s mum.
Whilst the room was being switched over for the night time guests Lauren wanted to offer something different to a photo booth so she got a brilliant caricaturist called David John Bignall he was so good!
Then the night was complete with a good ole disco surrounded by friends and family….A totally perfect end to a perfect day.
Here’s some more gorgeousness.
There are so many more to this Hallmark Hotel wedding.
